Polyethylene pipe (HDPE and LDPE)
Polyethylenes are mainly classified based on their density (according to ASTM code) as:
Low Density Polyethylene (LDPE or LDPE), low thermal conductivity Linear low density polyethylene ( LDPE or LLDPE) has a good tensile strength ,resistant to tear and puncture, good impact resistance at very low temperatures ( -95 ° C ) High Density Polyethylene (HDPE or HDPE) It has better mechanical properties (stiffness, toughness and tensile strength ) than the LDPE and LLDPE due to its higher density. High Density Polyethylene High Molecular Weight (HMW – HDPE) has several properties, like good tear resistance, wide working temperature range ( -40 to 120 ° C ), waterproof and does not keep odors.
